Influential colonists
PAUL REVEREPaul Revere took on many major roles for the Americans in the Revolutionary War. He was a Freemason, a spy, a courier, he commanded part of the Boston Tea Party, he manufactured important equipment for the Patriots, and printed the very first form of money for our country. All these things made him a very respected colonist. He made a huge impact on America and the other colonists, which gave him a very good reputation in the new found country of America. He's most importantly known for his ride to Lexington and other neighboring cities to inform the colonists that the British were coming. He had warned majority of his assigned colonists, but was later captured by the British before he could finish his entire ride. He is a great part of history and is still respected for his courageousness.

WILLIAM DAWESWilliam Dawes accompanied Paul Revere on his ride to warn the colonists of the British. Paul Revere was greatly honored for the ride, while William Dawes was forgotten and unrecognized. William's ride was a lot more successful than Paul's, but Paul came forward and took all of the credit, leaving William to not be respected at all. William came back safely and escaped getting caught by the British Patrol, while Paul was completely clueless to the British's plans and was cornered. William later joined the Continental Army and fought at the Battle of Bunker Hill. He wasn't respected, but still continued to fight as hard as he could for America's freedom.

hAYM SALOMONHaym Salomon was a Jewish-born American immigrant that served by financing the Revolutionary War on the American side, but was soon captured by the British soldiers. The British forced him become a spy, so he began spying on the Americans. He was soon trying to switch back over to the Patriot's side, but was once again arrested by the British and sentenced to death. He was able to escape his death penalty and ran to be a broker for the American troops. He actually worked for the French, but was soon helping the Americans in war when they became allies with the French. He was a very successful man, and set up many deals to help the Americans get a source of money for gun powder, bullets, and other needed items for the battlefield. Haym was respected by many, but was also despised of, considering he switched between the British and American sides multiple times.

cRISPUS ATTUCKSCrispus Attucks is known for being the very first casualty of the Revolutionary War, and to be the first African American to be considered a hero. Crispus was once a runaway slave, and never went back into slavery. He was never caught, but decided to hide in war. He was placed in the front line of the British soldiers, being one of the 50 chosen, he was quite proud. He was ready to fight for his freedom when shots were fired unexpectedly, giving him an unfair amount of time to escape the bullets that were traveling through the air. He was shot twice, both entering his chest at the same time, killing him instantly. Crispus died, not during a full battle, but during the Boston Massacre, giving him a lot of recognition than it would have been during real war. He later had a poem dedicated to him, called "The First To Defy, The First To Die".
